Recipe: Cooking Rabbit on a Campfire
Today’s my birthday and I wanted to try something a little different, so Amanda and I went in to the woods to cook up a fryer rabbit out in the wilderness over a campfire.
Preparation consisted of letting the rabbit meat soak in a brine solution over night. The brine consisted of 3 cups of water to 1/8th cup of sea salt. Rabbit meat is very lean and dries out fast if you don’t soak it first.
The primal barbecue sauce was prepared yesterday in advance and refrigerated overnight.
